  • keep the platform secure
  • comply with legal obligations

4. Your Thread

Your Thread is your secure record.

You own the information you upload.

Threadline stores and organises it on your behalf.

You decide:

  • what goes into it

Nothing is shared without your permission.

We may also use trusted technology providers to securely host and process your information.

7. Improving Threadline

If you choose to opt in through the Threadline platform, we may use de-identified information to:

  • improve Threadline and make it easier to use
  • improve assessment preparation
  • develop future assessment, diagnostic and care technologies
  • improve clinical decision support
  • evaluate product performance
  • understand how families use Threadline

De-identified information means information that has been processed so it cannot reasonably identify you or your child.

This is a separate choice from Research, described below. See our Research & Improvement Policy for more detail.

8. Research

If you choose to opt in separately through the Threadline platform, we may use de-identified information to:

  • support ethically approved research
  • improve ADHD assessment
  • develop future diagnostic and care technologies
  • contribute to a better understanding of child development

Participation is entirely optional. Choosing not to participate will never affect your ability to use Threadline, and is independent of your choice about Product Improvement above.

9. Artificial Intelligence

Threadline uses technology to organise and prepare information. Where artificial intelligence is used to assist with information processing or document preparation:

  • it supports, but does not replace, clinical judgement
  • it is designed to improve organisation and efficiency
  • it does not provide diagnosis or treatment recommendations

If you choose to opt in, de-identified information may be used to improve these technologies over time.

10. Security

Protecting your family’s information is one of our highest priorities. We use appropriate technical and organisational safeguards, including:

  • encryption in transit and at rest
  • secure authentication
  • access controls
  • audit logging
  • Australian data hosting where practical
  • regular security monitoring

No online system can ever be completely secure, but we continuously work to protect your information.

11. Keeping Your Information

We keep your information while your account remains active.

If you close your account, you may request that your information be deleted, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.

You may request to:

  • access your information
  • correct inaccurate information
  • download your information
  • delete your account
  • withdraw your research consent at any time

13. Children

Threadline is intended to be used by parents or legal guardians on behalf of children.

We do not knowingly allow children to create their own Threadline accounts.

14. Overseas Services

Some technology providers that help us deliver Threadline may process information outside Australia.

Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate privacy and security protections are in place.

Our Privacy Promise

If you only read one part of this Privacy Policy, read this.

Your Thread belongs to you. You own the information you add to Threadline. You decide who sees it.

We never share your child’s information with a clinician, teacher or anyone else without your permission.

We don’t sell your personal information. Ever.

You can leave whenever you like. You can request a copy of your information or ask us to delete your account.

We learn to improve. With your permission, we may use de-identified information to improve Threadline, develop better assessment tools and support research that helps more children.

Every improvement helps another family.

Our mission is simple: Every Child Understood.

Everything we do with data should support that mission.
